Birded Worcester and a bit of Dorchester county all day Friday, April 6, starting at dawn at Truitts Landing.
Along with previously posted Yellow Throated Vireo at Porter's Crossing, highlights included two Black-Necked Stilts near the end of Elliott Island road (one photographed), a Willet elsewhere on the road, and an Ovenbird on the Nature Trail at the Old Furance Town property off Route 12. Also ran into a gathering of 46 Snowy Egrets on EIliott Island Road.
Skimmer Island held Royal and Forsters Terns, along with the usual suspects, as well as 10 Red Breasted Mergs in the bay waters. Assateague was very windy and difficult, but I did get one flyby Tricolored Heron.
Pine Warblers, Chipping Sparrows and Louisiana Waterthrushes were singing in multiple locations.
Good Birding!
