Adkins Arboretum has kindly offered to keep their gates open all weekend in the month of May so we can get in early to go birding. Please remember there is an entrance fee of $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. 

I have been spending this week at Adkins Arboretum, birding when I can. Birds of note:


Eastern Phoebe - on most of the bridges

Prothonotary Warbler - 4/12, along Tuckahoe Creek on Creekside Walk
Louisiana Waterthrush - 6 in one day, in wetlands on the Blockston Branch Walk and along Tuckahoe Creek
Hermit Thrush - 4 on Blockston Branch Overlook Trail, in the trail and one on Blockston Branch Walk
