The Deer Creek/Flower trail was blooming with various flowers, especially bluebells, when I spent part of my late morning/early afternoon time there. Saw a red admiral butterfly and many zebra swallowtails.
The birding was fun. Wonder what the coming warm weather will bring here. A week ago had 10 ruby-crowned kinglets; today none. Selected birds:
Yellow-Throated Warbler (4, fos)
Parula (dozen+)
Yellow-Rumped (dozen+)
Louisiana Waterthrush (6)
Pine Warbler (1)
Palm Warbler (2, drabber)
White-Eyed Vireo (2)
gnatcatchers
osprey
cormorants (tons)
common mergs
wood ducks
