9 DC Cormorants were on the rocks just north of the river bridge yesterday afternoon.  While i was in the vicinity, i took a moment to scan the south/east side of the bridge for any sign of Cliff Swallows, but saw nothing...it's a little early admittedly.

The Herald-Mail (Hagerstown's daily newspaper) had a brief item today (page A8) on bridge work that noted that three bridges spanning Tonoloway Creek (MD 144 and the E & W spans of I-70) as well as the E and W spans of I-68 over Sidling Hill Creek will commence work soon.  They (MD State Highway Administration) had promised to consult with MOS on these projects, but in the event that anyone knows of active CS colonies at these sites, it won't hurt to contact Kurt R. Schwarz, the Conservation Chair of MOS.
