Having heard a suspicious gobble-like call the last few days, we listened carefully this AM - no gobbles, but a totally unfamiliar "cluck" and later, a curious pigeon-like "coo". A web-site confirmed these as calls of the female Wild Turkey when near the nest.

A strange (to me) yard list - Wild Turkey and La Waterthrush, but no Robins, Mockingbirds, or Song Sparrows!
I predict in years to come, Wild Turkey in suburban yards will become unremarkable as this population continues to soar.
