Hughes Hollow- Yellow thrt Vireo, Blue-headed Vireo

Hi all,

   Made a short morning walk in the vicinity of the Hughes Hollow impoundments. Mostly saw the usual species about, but got a couple " first of the season" species.**  Flushed a Green-backed Heron by the parking lot returning to my car. I checked out the cell phone tower to see if any nesting activity or Ospreys-zero.

*Yellow-throated Vireo  2
*Blue-headed Vireo   1
*Common Yellowthoats  4-5
Ruby-crowned Kinglet     2
Blue gray Gnatcatchers -several
American Goldfinches
*White eyed Vireo 2-3
*Gray Catbird
*Prairie Warbler  2

Bluejays- mostly flyovers
House Wren
Carolina Wren
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Red-winged Blackbirds
Tree Swallows
Red-Shouldered Hawk
Red tailed Hawk
Northern Flicker

Turkey Vultures

Common Crow
Eastern Bluebird
American Robin
White throated Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Downy wp
Red bellied wp
White brst Nuthatch   1

American Coot   8-9 feeding in spatterdock.

Pied billed Grebe  2

Canada Geese
Mallard -feral?  a duck was incessantly quacking in the right impoundment. It looked  like one of those 'training ducks' that is sometimes released, it's wing feathers clipped
Wood Duck  1 hen + 5 or 6 young in tow
