Hey everyone,

After listening to Henslow's Sparrows at Matt Hafner's house yesterday
morning Jared Stachell, Dan Small, and myself birded the Susquehanna
River from Lapidum up and around to Port Deposit. We were surprised
at how slow it was. Northern Parula, Ovenbird, and a few Myrtle
Warblers were singing. A single Blue-headed Vireo just north of
Lapidum and a singing Prothonotary Warbler by south of Stafford Rd
were our best birds of the day. About 110 Bonaparte Gulls were
feeding near the dam. Blue-winged Teal were observed at Bethel WMA in
Cecil along with an Eastern Kingbird. The Glossy Ibis that have been
seen in the farm pond along Flatland Rd in Kent County were not seen
even though we tried twice in the afternoon.

I have just published a new post on the coppers of the Mid Atlantic
region on my blog. Lots of cool photos of all three of our copper
species. It can be viewed at www.midatlanticnature.blogspot.com
