Despite it being breeding season, there are an incredible number of
eagles hanging out at the Conowingo Dam. I was there today between 9:30
and 10:30 and counted 147 Bald Eagles from one spot, mostly adults. On a
walk down the trail I saw and heard at least a dozen more which may or
may not be included in the above number, but I think they are in
addition to the 147.

The walk down the trail was disappointing. I was expecting some new
arrivals but I only heard a couple of Northern Parulas, some Blue-gray
Gnatcatchers and quite a few Yellow-rumped Warblers.

The eagle looked down on the river below
And he wrapped his wings round him and he fell like a stone
And the big salmon fought but the talons held true
And he shuddered as the world turned from silver to blue
