My husband and I spend the morning at Swan Harbor. Highlight was 2 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH - one at the impoundment not far from the blind, and another while walking the trail in the wooded area. The one in the impoundment made himself known with his song. He then flew into a shrub from a willow tree and wildly pumped his tail as Waterthrushes do. I don't ever remember seeing a Waterthrush at Swan Harbor, but it certainly seems like good habitat for a Northern. Other notable birds included SORA, LEAST BITTERN and 3 ORCHARD ORIOLES - one male, one female and a 1st summer bird. A walk in the woods was quiet as far as warblers go- we had BLACK THROATED BLUE, PARULA, and BLACKPOLL. I posted a full list in E-bird. Good birding!
