I just spend 5 minutes trying to catch a Virginia Rail in the backyard of our Baltimore office next to Patterson Park. It was running  between beer crates from the ground floor restaurant and apparently had been there since this morning. I had hoped to catch it and release it by the lake in the park but it evaded capture and flew off down the alley. I hope it makes it to some decent habitat!
