Birding on private property today of the UMDCF we found our second Howard County Dunlin. (One on Waverly Pond last week) A quite nice shorebird for us in our shorebird deprived county. Please be aware this bird was on private property with continuing restricted access. Please do not trespass as per the wishes of the farm manager. They are spraying heavily now and do not want people on the property. Email me to join us on future pre scheduled walks.

Other birds of note were singing “on territory” Grasshopper sparrows and a small group of Savannahs lingering. A Blue Grosbeak and Bobolinks were lovely. Bank Swallow flyover.....

What was just as noteworthy was the lack of Swamp Sparrows...first time this area has not had one.
