Gail, 3 Kentucky Warblers for Catoctin seems like a good number, given how denuded the understory is in that park. Do you recall how thick the habitat was where you heard them?

We exited Rt. 15 at Fish Hatchery Road, checked the ponds there and then drove up onto the ridge and mostly followed Tower Rd, with some side excursions, The wind direction seemed to bode well for a migratory flight but that really didn't happen. However the local breeders were there in force (want to see a LOT of Redstarts?) and we enjoyed excellent FOS looks at HOODED, KENTUCKY and CERULEAN WARBLERS, multiples of all three with good views as well. We had 15 species of warbler in all, but missed expected species such as Blackpoll, Bay-breast and Chestnut-sided. Red-eyed Vireos and Scarlet Tanagers were singing all along the drive, as well. A very pleasant morning although it shut down fairly soon.

He is interested in birds and has several hummingbird feeders up (with hummers, though none graced us with their presence while we were there.)
