The Eaglets, with team members Robbie Pfeiffer, Maya McGrory, Miele
McCluskey and Faith McCarthy, 3rd and 4th graders that attend Kennard
Elementary School in Centreville, competed in and won their youth division
of the 29th WSB in New Jersey.

The youth spent 3 days of scouting prior to the event. On Thursday they had
113 species and 99 species on Friday. The Big Day on Saturday was even
better ... 122 species! They totaled 23 species of warblers before and
during the event.

Next year will be the 30th WSB and the kids are already planning on how they
can do better.
Congratulations to a great bunch of kids.

ps: Eagle Optics provided the kids 8x32 Eagle Optics Ranger binoculars for
the event, along with Eagle Optics hats and shirts. The bins worked really
well for the kids.
Yes, this is an unabashed plug for Eagle Optics.
