"Back in the day", as Ed says, I too would enjoy the Nighhawks over the old Orioles' stadium, living as I do, one block n. of the ballpark. Seated with my neighbor across the street in lounge chairs, where we enjoyed excellent views overhead, including that of the stadium, we'd note the spillover from the ballpark as the nighthawks would swoop down over our heads with their buzzy forays. Joining
them at times would be Little Brown bats, and
once, a ghostly Barn Owl flew over, bathed in
the reflected light of the stadium.

When the games were at Memorial Stadium on 33rd Street "back in the day",as my kids like to say, that was the easiest way to get your nighthawk for the year.

Hi,

Tonight during the Orioles Yankees game at Camden Yards in Baltimore I noticed two Common Nighthawks overhead toward the end of the game.  I think they were attracted to the insects that were in turn attracted to the lights of the stadium.
