:Hi All , Birded the North Tract of Patuxent Refugee in Fort Meade area today . Beautiful fun day . Was sad to see it end. Not good when you still want to look for birds  but you have to get out cause the park is closing .(Closes at 4 ) is open on Sunday also
Patuxent Refugee is located off rt 198 near Laurel . One would sign in the visitor center so they can make sure everyone has made it out at the end of the day .
There is a road approx. 15 miles long and is like a wildlife drive . Driven by car or bicycle . A few wooded trails off the wildlife drive for walking or cycleing .Be sure to walk the wooded trail at the north end of the Visitor center parking lot . It runs along the Patuxent river here .
Oh and i heard the weatherman say this past year is the hottest one on record since record keeping started in 1895 . I dont think id ever pray for cold weather !!
