Backtracking a bit over the last few days we found a Black-crowned Night heron at Meadowbrook this afternoon. We flushed the bird from the pond area close to Rt 29. We also had a pair of butterflies mating (I’m still working on the ID) http://flic.kr/p/bYNd9m there is a video following this picture.

If you want to scroll through the Meadowbrook pictures there is a funny snake story from today also!

Sunday I spent the day in Washington County and we had a few Yellow-Billed Cuckoos at Big Pool....they have been scarce here in Howard. The Rusty Clubtails were emerging along the river and we had some neat photo opportunities. http://flic.kr/p/bXrvfA At Sidling Hill the singing Cerulean was a real treat!

Saturday May Count at Rockburn was better than expected. We had 18 warbler species with most of them migrants. Wilsons, Cape May and Bay Breasted were the highlights.
