Howdy,

I saw 50+ CLIFF SWALLOWS over the Cumberland Sewage Plant in Allegany County this afternoon. There were 33 nests- all very active- on one of the buildings. The cliff swallows were mixed among the barn, tree and northern rough-winged swallows snapping up aerial insects over the fragrant pools of...well, you know.

The facility itself is off limits, however the C&O Canal trail offers ample views along the perimeter and there is an adjacent regional park with easy parking.

Good birding!

Matt
