It was a great pleasure to be birding with Elliott and Nancy Kirschbaum this
week.  The undoubted highlight was a Golden-winged Warbler seen well at Old
Legislative Road on June 6.

 

To supplement Elliott's long post from yesterday, here are a few birds I
saw/heard on my own:

 

Blair's Valley Lake, June 4:  Northern Bobwhite, calling from a grassy area
across the lake from the parking lot.  Yellow -breasted Chat, seen in the
hunting area.

 

Herrington Manor State Park, June 5:  Common Raven, Black-billed Cuckoo,
Magnolia Warbler.
