Subject: [MDBirding] Connecticut warbler at Turkey Point, Cecil County

Hello all,

I feel very confident I seen a CONNECTICUT WARBLER at Turkey Point, Elk Neck State park this morning. It was fairly large for a warbler, long, dull yellowish underparts and grayish brown above with a very prominent eye ring, and no wing bars. What struck me the most was the eye ring, and it's large size. It stayed very low in the shrubs, and after my first look, it didn't want to be seen-very secretive in nature. I haven't seen too many Connecticut warblers in my birding years, but after leafing through my Sibley guide, I don't know what else it could have been! Other than that, rather slow morning initially, but it actually got better as the morning progressed. I had several pockets of birds with a female SCARLET TANAGER, LEAST FLYCATCHER and a BLACKPOLL. Before I started out for Elk Neck, had a singing PHILADELPHIA VIREO in my yard. Can someone please send a Yellow -Bellied Flycatcher my way? I'll send a full e-bird list of Turkey Point. Happy Birding!
