The US National Museum (Natural History at the Smithsonian) has a request for beach walkers. If you encounter dead loons or grebes, please remove one of the whole legs from the carcass (you can place it in a plastic bag). Contact Dr. Joe Jehl (<Grebe5k...>) for instructions for how to get it to the museum. If you can help in this study, it would be a benefit to science.
