Greetings all,
This morning at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens there was a nice variety of interesting birds present.
Seen in the marsh were four male NORTHERN SHOVELER, and six GREEN_WINGED TEAL. A small flock of five RUSTY BLACKBIRDs and five PURPLE FINCHes was present in the swamp at the beginning of the River Trail. An additional bird seen in this area was a surprising and somewhat early BLUE-HEADED VIREO, also found earlier by Callan Swenson.
Perhaps the best find of all was the amazingly warm and pleasant 80F weather!
Good birding,
-Wayne Baumgartner Washington, DC
