Subject: [MDBirding] Red-throated Loon in Frederick County
I had a good May count today. Best birds were a Wilson's Warbler (unfortunately on private property) and a Red-throated Loon on the Monocacy River just downstream from Creagerstown Park on Route 550. The loon floated past me downstream and was actively feeding (lots of diving) as I was trying to get a photo--not conducive to getting the optimum shot. I'm sure the local fisher folk got quite a laugh watching me slip-sliding away along the river with my scope in one hand and camera in the other. I eventually lost sight of it, returned to the car, and was packing up, when it suddenly appeared again near the bridge. So it may still be hanging out tomorrow.

And lest you think I am making this up, here are my not so great photos.
