I could sing Susquehanna's praises all day, but I'll keep it short and simple. I had 62 species just at the picnic area this evening, and ran out of time before I could even think about walking to the mill. Highlights:
1 BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO (FOY) at the pond, which was my first one ever outside of Garrett County. Perched about 10' away, calling, inquisitive. 3 Common Nighthawks (FOY) flying over the parking lot 1 Barred Owl calling along Deer Creek 3 Acadian Flycatchers (FOY) 2 Yellow-throated Vireos, well-viewed 2 Cerulean Warblers 3 Kentucky Warblers 1 Prothonotary Warbler 1 Blue-winged Warbler 1 Magnolia Warbler 3 Black-throated Blue Warblers 3 Blackpoll Warblers 18 American Redstarts (probably a lot more) 3 Scarlet Tanagers
13 species of warbler in all. eBird list: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S14114885
No Glossy Ibis or Snowy Egrets at Swan Harbor, but a Sora and a PERCHED Marsh Wren were nice.
