A Guide to the Birds of Trinidad and Tobago by Richard ffrench is the
best field guide for that area. That is probably the one you mentioned in
you post.

A guide which covers a larger area, but should include many (most), but
not all the birds of Tobago is A guide to the Birds of Venezuela by
Rodolphe Meyer de Schauensee and Willian H. Phelps, Jr. It is even more
expensive than the ffrench guide, and the text will not be as helpful.

I think that the ffrench book also has a list of the birds of Tobago in
an appendix.

You can get a checklist of the birds of Trinidad and Tobago from the
American Birding Association (ABA) for $3.00 800-634-7736. Ask for item
#745.
