Still some Brant at Dear all, I also spent an overnighter at the Eastern Shore this past week-end. My results were much like Steve Sanford's with the following footnotes. I did find the eight harlequin's at the Ocean City inlet. I wonder how long they will stay? A short-billed dowitcher flew by. At Asateague Island, I did pick up greater yellowlegs, swamp sparrow, little blue heron, tricolored heron, all three scoters, a red-necked grebe, merlin, willets, common, royal, & forster's terns, great-crested flycatcher, and a merlin. I didn't get as many warblers as Steve: yellowthroat, yellow-throated, pine, and hooded. At the ponds, I saw cattle egrets, and black-crowned night herons. Gannets soared over the ocean at every point where I got out on the beach to scan. I can not remember seeing so many gannets before. By the way, Steve, I'm glad the Bittern at Lake Roland was so accomodating for you. --- Don Burggraf --
