Hi, Fran--

Say, would you mind fowarding this note to the Maryland listserv? I think
Maryland birders might enjoy seeing how their reports are adding up.

Thanks for anything you can do, Fran. Good birding!

Greetings, Maryland birders--

With the warblers now well into breeding mode, we thought you might
like to see what Warbler Watch <http://birdsource.cornell.edu> has
so far received regarding states/provs reporting breeding data. Also,
the Warbler Watch Map Room, where you can compare animated maps
of
different species based on your data, has just been updated.

We've expanded the form to include options such as "observed in
possible nesting habitat," "singing male observed on more than one
date," "pair observed in suitable breeding habitat," etc. I should
point out that in the not-too-distant future, you'll be able to query
BirdSource data in answer to your own questions. So we really
encourage you to contribute towards making this database as complete
as possible.

Warbler Watch is an online study cosponsored by the Cornell
Laboratory of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society that is
gathering data on the migration patterns and breeding distributions of
warblers. There's no sign-up, no fee. Just go to the BirdSource Web site
and click on the Warbler Watch logo whenever you see warblers. If you've
been reporting your warbler sightings, thanks! We hope you'll keep doing
so. If you haven't, please do. Remember, the scroll-down form lets you
contribute data retroactively (say, if you haven't reported your May
migrants or overwinterers). If you have questions, please contact me,
Allison Wells, at amw25@cornell.edu.
