Hi Rogeroo, Glad to read about your gadaboutness. Still looking for the shorebirdies, huh? I have moved on to my favorites, the warblers. After two weekends at Meadowside, and only a paltry handful of warblers (though some nice species to fill in my year list), I went just down the road this morning to Tucker Lane here in Ashton, and came back at 10:30 with 14 species of warblers, plus 3 vireos and some other neo-tropic goodies. What great fun the warblers were. Probably the best warbler morning I've had in years, even though I only got 14 species. The action was fast and furious. Species seen were: N. Parula(s), A. Redstarts, Canadas, Magnolias, Tennessees, Nashvilles, Black & White, Black-throated Blues and Black-throated Green, Blackburnians, Ovenbirds, Kentucky, Prairie, and Chestnut-sideds. Vireos Red-and White-eyed and Yellow-throated, along with Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks, E. Wood-pewees, Acadian Flycatchers, E. Kingbirds, Veery, woodpeckers of various species, etc., etc. A really nice morning, and I am heading backl there tomorrow morning to finish up the places I didn't get to bird this morning! I'll keep you posted. Rick Sussman Warblerick@aol.com
