Go for it, Greg! I see a few FL birds in that lot....but watch out for hurricanes. If you are pressed for time on the Flamingo....the day boat vendors out of the general store at Everglades NP can run you out there to the birds. Come to think of it, somebody in the that lot also ought to be able to tell you if the birds are there at all. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about fall sightings of these birds. When we were there last, people were reporting many sightings from about mid-February. We saw Spot-beasted oriole in Kendall and also in Ft. Lauderdale, and the Budgies are reportedly found in the St. Pete area. Can't help much with that one since we haven't gone after it yet. 'Tis not much, but hope it helps.....
