Hi Folks!

Let me try some oneupsmanship......

The setting: 1:15 AM in Horseshoe Canyon in early May. Horseshoe Canypn is a
dry canyon the the southeast corner of the Chiracahua Mountains, Cochise
County, Arizona.

I am awaked from sliip by a distinct: cu-cu-ka-chee-ah,cu-cu-ka-chee-ah,cu-cu-
ka-chee-ah

Alas...it is not a Buff-collared Nightjar

I have a nice 20 minute recording of that Northern Mockingbird.

Another mimic thrush, Gray Catbird can also do fine immitations. But where did
the one at Cherry Creek Glades on the Accident-Bittinger Road in Garrett
County learn to do:
"kik-er-do"? Perhaps right there...the only record of Black Rail in Garrett is
from there.

Good Birding!
