While a Pacific Loon has been reported there all winter, a second bird which, according to observers, shows all the field marks of Arctic Loon as described in the 1997 Birding article, was seen this week. The RBA asked for further confirmation, but for listers who missed the 1991 California bird, you may want to call the Maine RBA for an update. Other birds being seen there from shore include Razorbill, Thick-billed Murre and Black Guillie. Btw, Ogunquit is about 1 1/2 hours from Logan AP in Boston as the twitcher drives! Barry and I usually head for Maine in February for a weekend's winter birding, but this year are going to the lower latitudes instead (Jamaica and Cuba).
