Good sighting !  

A Boat-tailed Grackle inland (and in Prince George's County) would be a
"reviewable" Maryland species.  Boat-taileds are in review category 5B,
which is covers certain species "if seen in the Chesapeake Bay north of
Anne Arundel and Queen Anne's Counties; or on the Potomac River north of
Charles County; or inland".

Even though I suppose I know the answer, I have to ask ... did you have
happen to take any field notes (as you passed them on the exit ramp).
