Re: Brewster's Warbler song

It seems that Brewster's can sing various songs -- I had one singing in
the tall oaks in the U. of MD quad a couple of years ago and it sang all
afternoon, only a typical Golden-winged song. It was a pale bird -- almost
looked like a Golden-wing but without the black facial markings (very little
yellow on breast). This year I heard a bird singing at the Rock Creek
Maintenance Yard -- first I heard a Golden-wing song (naturally getting
excited!), then a typical Blue-wing (Bzzzzz-bzzzzz) -- Holy toledo, both
species together??? Well, yes, in a manner of speaking.... it was a
Brewtser's but probably one of the "back-cross" types -- quite yellow,
but with a whitish throat and a single yellowish wingbar. It sang almost
90% of the time a Blue-wing song, occasionally laspsing into a Golden-wing
song (of four notes).

A couple of days ago I heard a three-note song at the Rock Creek ridge which
was very suspicious but we never saw the whole bird, just a glimpse of a
bluish back. ????
