William, About Chincoteague: if the water levels are decent there should still be a few birds about, aside from the nesting species. Friday last week it was pretty good - and on Sat. the Northern VA Bird Club did its spring weekend there and found a Purple Gallinule. So that's not too shabby! Don't know if it's still there; if I can find out I may make a pass for it myself - Kerrie hasn't said anything to me about a "less structured" Snicker's situation. I don't think it's such a good idea generally since there would be no formal count to continue the records. Kerrie has said that she'd like to do her hawk-watching on days with favorable winds, at her convenience, etc., but only on a personal basis - not for the whole hawkwatch. I do think it would destroy any record keeping - Bev
