Les-- We found the Upland Sandpiper at the Easton plant again after you left, and it was still there when we departed around 12:30. Earlier, at Ridgely, we had scores of yellowlegs, perhaps 20 Pectorals, half a dozen Stilt Sandpipers, 2 dowitchers, Killdeer, a couple of Semipalmated Plovers, numerous Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers--plus 100 Bank and a couple of Barn Swallows. This with a brisk breeze and cool temps. Later, on the way to Hurlock--continuing La Route des Sewages--we mightily admired the beauty of the Tanyard marshes, filled with flowering mallows and other blooms. Didn't see much in the line of birds, though. Do all of you guys bird this from the side of the (busy) road? Hurlock had a few yellowlegs, maybe 7 Least Sandpipers, Killdeer, and assorted waders. A lovely, non-blistering day. Many thanks to all of you who forwarded directions. Lydia Schindler Darnestown
