Marty Cribb called us last night to report that the Red-necked Phalarope was blissfully feeding in the large pond near the point at Pt. Lookout State Park.

He also reported that fellow Gail Franz and Steve Sanford were aboard the Smith Island ferry and had both Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrows and Seaside Sparrows but no Yellow-crowned Night-herons which normally outnumber the Black-crowns by about 10 to 1. Marty was being extra vigilant for the reported possible Reddish Egret but came up empty.

Good Birding!
