Ruby-throated Hummingbirds do not form pairs. The male will mate with
any female he can entice and then the female does all the work of
raising the kids. (Insert male chauvinist comments here.) :) The only
time they are a "pair" is during the few seconds of mating.

Do put up more feeders as this will probably result in seeing more
hummers. Right now I only have 3 up but later on I will have about 15
out and will have dozens of hummingbirds zooming around. I even host a
"Hummingbird Happy Hour" in August to show them off. :)
