Maryland Birds & Birding

8:40-9:50 a.m. Slightly cooler temperatures brought out some singing birds
this morning, although it seems clear migration is well past its peak.
Lillies are blooming...

One interesting highlight (although far from my favorite birds) were a
group of fledgling Starlings squawking about the berry trees outside the KAG
gates.

        Other highlights:
        - Yellow-billed Cuckoo (new for DC list)
        - Yellow Warbler
        - Blue-Grey Gnatcatcher (2, maybe 3)
        - Baltimore Oriole
        - Eastern Pheobe
        - Tree Swallow

Besides that, it was the usual: Barn Swallow, Gt Blue Heron, R-W Blackbird,
Common Grackle, Canada Goose with goslings, Chimney Swift, Cardinal.

Other wildife: Cabbage White, Common White-Tail dragonfly, periodical
cicadas (moderate numbers).

        Good Birding!
