A quick before-work walk at Milford Mill Park (Balto County) produced the
following:

2-3 RT Hummingbird
1 Empid sp. (non-vocalizing, very gray with a big eye ring but not seen well
enough)
2 Great Crested Flycatcher
1 WE Vireo (still singing)
RE Vireo - many, including probably local young
1 Red-breasted Nuthatch -- seen well
Veery
1 Nashville Warbler
2 Chestnut-sided Warbler
1 Magnolia Warbler
1 Scarlet Tanager

As usual with fall migrants, everything was concentrated in one spot. There
were many birds moving high in the treetops that went unidentified.

A later, lunchtime visit to Rockburn Branch (Howard Co) produced only one
more each of Nashville and Magnolia.

Yesterday, 8/31, as the front was coming through, Southwest Area Park in
Balto Co was full of Bobolinks, and a juvenile Northern Harrier was coursing over
the fields and marsh. It felt suddenly like fall.
