The Kelp Gull was present at the Sea Breeze Crab House pier in Sandgates, MD, around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2004. Showing lots of wing-wear, as were the nearby Great Black-backed Gulls, it sure didn't share with me where it has been all of these months of non-sightings. If it holds true to past patterns, it will still be gone more often than it's around, at least until the winter months get here.
    If anyone tries for it, I'd be grateful for a report (please post privately to me), since every attempt, successful or not, helps firm up its patterns. Thanks!
