Hi All,

There do not seem to be any of the snowbirds (e.g. Snow Buntings, longspurs) that were our target species for this weekend's trip in NE Kent County according to Club Co-President Peter Mann - who lives in one of the prime areas for such birds. In lieu of the desiderata we have decided to join the Cecil Bird Club's Cecil Landfill gull trip. Recent sightings from Cecil have included Iceland, Glaucous, Lesser Black-backed, and at least one likely Thayer's Gull candidate. Peter and I will meet folks in Galena at the new plaza on the left (with the pizza restaurant) off 213 (beyond the MD-290 & MD-213 intersection) at 7:20 AM - in order to meet Cecil trip participants in Elkton at their 8:00 AM meeting time. It will be warmer this weekend than last, but people should wear layered warm clothing and good boots (landfills are muddy).

Good Birding,

Walter Ellison
