Copying from the web into powerpoint is perfectly legal as long as you
have the permission of the photographer. Many amateur photographers are
delighted to have their photos used as long as you give credit for where
you got the photos from. Websites usually have a way to email the
webmaster or photographer.
Professional photographers and many of the more skilled amateurs sell
their photos, of course. No surprise there - as with anything else in
life, you get what you pay for.
