Kim Caughey and I birded the Susquehanna from Port Deposit briefly this
morning. The breeding plumaged Black-headed Gull was directly in front of the
condos not 10 feet off the piers. It put on quite a show on the water and
flying around. One winter plumaged adult Little Gull flew up the river giving
great flight views before settling in the water north of town (and out of site
of Lapidum). There 2 Pied-billed Grebes, 3 Coots, 2 Green-winged Teal, but
no Red-necked Grebe today.
Hopefully the gulls will hang around for a few more days.
