Blue Mash Nature Trail, Zion Road Section, Montgomery County, 28 Apr 05,
0730-0900

John Combs and I birded BMNT together yesterday morning. Migrants noted
included Eastern Phoebe (2), Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (3), Palm Warbler (1),
and Yellow Warbler (2). A Common Yellowthroat and an Ovenbird were heard.

Tree Swallow, Barn Swallow and Chimney Swift hawked insects over the pond
and Spotted Sandpiper (2) fed along the shoreline. Brown Thrasher was
abundant with at least 6 observed. Sparrows included Chipping, Field,
Savannah, Song, Swamp and White-throated, and many singing E. Towhee. One
of the new bluebird nest boxes contains five eggs.
