My first ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK of the spring arrived in the yard.

We then headed out to our atlas block and found 1 SORA, 6 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 8 GREATERS, 20+ SOLITARYS, 13 LEAST and 2 SPOTTED. Other highlights were a distant RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, BANK SWALLOW, 3 MARSH WRENS, 120+ BOBOLINKS. AMERICAN REDSTART, INDIGO BUNTING, both ORIOLES were also year firsts which I find incredibly late.
A SAVANNAH SPARROW which appeared to have a beak full of nesting material was certainly my highlight of the morning. A distant EAGLE sp. had us wishing for a closer look.
