There is an excellent article on hybrid Golden-winged/Blue-winged Warblers
in the latest issue of Birding. In general, Lawrence's are said to sing
variations on both BW or GW songs (or even, intergrades). I have never heard
a Lawrence's singing, the only one I ever saw was a female last autumn, but
have heard a number of Brewster's (the dominant hybrid) and they have sung
songs identical to BW (that is, Bzzz-BZZZ), GW (Bzzz-BZZZ-bzzz-bzz-bzz) or
in one case, both songs more or less alternately (talk about being
confused!) What did your bird sound like?
