After reading a couple of postings of shorebird sightings during yesterday's rain, i thought i'd better get down to my perch behind the house and see what "the Jug" had to offer. Was greeted by 2 "Traill's Flycatchers playing around at the edge of the marsh. They would not vocalize, but if you believe in all the characters that seem to seperate the 2, they looked more like Willows.
Then, about 4:32pm, a shorebird was flying north up Jug Bay. I got the scope on it and cranked it up to 60 and followed it for quite a while. It was my first Red Knot ever from my perch, and a new "yard" bird.
