Lake Roland: Shorebirds, Warblers, Sw. Thrush

Lake Roland was good this afternoon/evening (5:00-7:30pm).
I've listed the species according to the "landmark" areas of the park.

Falls area:

BCN Heron (2): On the concrete wall at the dam's bottom
YCN Heron (2): In the tallest tree overlooking the falls. Nice.
Great Blue Heron (2)
Pileated Woodpecker: Calling from the south then flying north
N. Parula: In the treeline along the Jones Falls
Yellow Warbler: Same place
O. Oriole: Same place

Mudflats:

Spotted, Solitary, Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers
Killdeer and Semipalmated Plover
Barn, NRW and Tree Swallows along with Chimney Swifts overhead

Main Trail:

Wood Duck: Hen seen with c.8 young. In the far north pond.
Osprey
WB Nuthatch (2): Near train tracks
Pileated, Red-bellied and Downy Woodpeckers
WE Vireo
RE Vireo
Acadian Flycatcher: Near train track area
BG Gnatcatcher
E Phoebe
EW Pewee
E Kingbird
Yellow Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
N. Parula
Common Yellowthroat
A. Redstart: Nice views near the concrete structure at the north end
Ovenbird
Hooded Warbler: Visible and audible from the high berm on the north end
YB Chat: Making noise near the same berm as the Hooded
Wood Thrush (2)
Swainson's Thrush: Heard near the north split of the trail.
Balt. Oriole (1)
