The morning of May 28th, 2005, we were woken from sleep by a Chuck-wills-widow screaming outside our window, here at the south end of Jug Bay. First one since about 1989 or so. Tried to get to my bucket in time to get him for my bucket list, but did not succeed.

This morning (May 30th, 2005) at the recently constucted beaver pond behind our house i was scanning a sizeable flock of Blackpoll Warblers and among them was a female Myrtle Warbler! My latest ever by 8 days and tempting the June 3 date listed in the "yellow book". This is particularly notable in a Spring that i have seen or heard very close to NO Myrtle Warblers. (only 3 days in early May, compared to almost every day in the first half of May most years). What has happened to them? They aren't even neotropic winterers.
