Folks

Today's highlight was an albino squirrel. I got some decent pictures, pink eye and all. Looks like a large white rat. I wonder how often this occurs in nature. Anyone know out there?

Oh, and the birds were one Red-shouldered Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk hunting the Mourning Doves, and the recently arrived Juncos. Up to a dozen today.

On Tuesday, October 18 I photographed a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird. The property owner just called and the bird was last seen at around 6 PM tonight. Getting real late for this species. I did look very carefully, and took pictures. I got several opinions from experienced birders, including the Lord God birder (Jim Stasz) and Mary Gustafson to corroborate my identification. I wanted to make sure it was not a Black-chinned.
