I spent Sunday morning at Tuckahoe State Park in Caroline and Queen Anne's
counties. On the Caroline side (horse trail), 3 Purple Finches and 2
Hermit Thrushes joined the numerous juncos, white-throats, and yellow-rumps.
The birds were very different on the Q.A. side. Sparrows opposite the boat
ramp parking lot included 1 Lincoln's and 1 juvenile White-crowned. Many
Rusty Blackbirds were in the swampy areas on either side of the parking
lot. My first sighting of the Rusty Blackbirds was 12 birds sitting in a
tree, but many more were circulating. I couldn't keep track of them, but
wouldn't be surprised if there were at least 40-50 birds.
